Continuous flow pasteurizer for
milk
Pasteurization of food products is one of the possible heat treatments used to kill off the entire population of disease-producing bacteria and greatly reduce the total number of micro organisms.

Operation
The milk is pumped into the buffer tank; then the product pump, installed on the unit, takes over and pumps the raw milk through the filter into the plate heat exchanger. The milk is heated up to 72°C and is kept at this temperature for 20 seconds. A
pasteurization temperature up to 95°C can be obtained. Larger holding sections can be installed on demand. Depending on the further processing, the
pasteurized milk will be cooled or re-heated before leaving the pasteurizer. |

Technical specifications

The various components in the compact unit are built onto a stable base frame. This unit includes a.o. a buffer tank, milk product pump, milk filter, plate heat exchanger, holding section, backflow valve, hot water circulation pump, heating element, expansion vat, pressure relief valve, automatic vent and water filling valve.

A homogenizer
and separator - from 1.200 l/h onwards - can be integrated.

The capacities range from 600 l/h up to 10.000 l/h.

In general, electrical heating is used for capacities up to 2.000 l/h; for higher outputs steam is
used. Efficient energy recovery reduces the energy consumption to an absolute minimum.
